Re: [hylafax-users] Receiving, but not sending

Try accessing your modem using minicom or other terminal program.
I had a problem once where for some weird reason my modem switched
from Com1 to Com2.
Look in dmesg to see which tty it is connected to.

Hi list,

Weird problem. I've been running Hylafax just fine on my Debian box for
a while now, but the other day I noticed that I'm no longer able to
send faxes with it. Receiving faxes, however, is not a problem.

Some quick facts:

 Hardware : AVM Fritz!Card PCI
fcpci module : compiled and installed
Debian version : sarge (stable), up to date
 Kernel : 2.6.8-3-k7
 Hylafax-server : 4.2.1-5sarge3
 capi4hylafax : 01.02.03-10
 libtiff.so.3.6.1: patched version installed

After trying to send, I always get the following error message in my
syslog, and as a Hylafax failure sent by email:

FaxQueuer[26779]: JOB 7: REJECT: Too many attempts to dial: 12, max 12
 FaxQueuer[26779]: NOTIFY: bin/notify "doneq/q7" "rejected" ""
 FaxQueuer[26779]: NOTIFY exit status: 0 (28999)

I tried setting ServerTracing to 0x03FFFF, but notice no more that the
above errors in the log; everything looks fine up until that reject
line. Also, while Hylafax is supposedly making those dial attempts, it
never takes the phone off-hook (no ISDN activity); c2faxsend doesn't
seem to be accessing the ISDN card at all.

I even tried reverting to kernel 2.6.8-2-k7, which I'm has definitely
worked for me in the past with Hylafax and the fcpci module that I
compiled against it (for capi4hylafax), but without success.

Dmesg also shows that the modules loaded okay:

 ISDN subsystem Rev: 1.1.2.3/1.1.2.3/1.1.2.2/1.1.2.3/1.1.2.2/1.1.2.2
   loaded

fcpci: module license 'Proprietary' taints kernel.

fcpci: AVM FRITZ!Card PCI found: port 0xa000, irq 9

 fcpci: Loaded.
 capifs: Rev 1.1.2.3
 capi20: Rev 1.1.2.7: started up with major 68 (middleware+capifs)

I'm stumped. Any ideas what might be the problem here?

Thanks!

Jaap
