The fax protocol uses TIFF natively so there is not way to "set" hylafax to
write out a PDF when it is received. (AFAIK anyway)

How about modifying the example code for emailing a PDF to write it back out
to disk in place of (or alongside of) the original TIFF. This could be done
in the faxrcvd script quite easily.
