[hylafax-users] not starting...already running ???

After dist-upgrading from woody to sarge, hylafax no longer works
properly on my debian box.

When issuing "/etc/init.d/hylafax restart", I get this:

Stopping HylaFAX daemons: faxq(not running) hfaxd(not running) faxgetty.
Not starting HylaFAX daemons since they are already running.

Huh?

I'm running faxgetty from init; therefore it gets restarted immediately.

Seemingly the script won't restart any service if it detects at least
one of them to be running; at least this is what I currently believe to
be the problem.

However, I have no idea how to solve this, my ability to read the script
just won't suffice.

What can I do?

regards,
Schnobs
