Re: [hylafax-users] fax sendq

How do I kill a job from the sendq via command line? The other day someone accidently sent a 200 page fax and I had no clue how to kill it for them once it started sending. Should I directly remove files from the sendq directory or is there a hylafax program that does it more gracefully?

You should be able to remove a fax job from the command line using 'faxrm', and it should go somewhat gracefully, although it sometimes takes a minute for the send process to get to a place where it will check for a job abort (so the faxrm command will hang during that time).

If you're talking about removing another user's job, then you'll probably want to set up an account with administrative privileges. And if you're running this on the same system that is running hfaxd+faxq, then you'll want to rearrange the hosts.hfaxd entries to prevent authentication based on "localhost" and "127.0.0.1".

See 'man hosts.hfaxd' and 'man faxrm' for more details.
