Re: [hylafax-users] Email body customization

Lee

I was afraid this is a case, since there is no such value in a log.

Than you clarifying it for me

Received fax image has a top line that looks like this ( example ):

JAN-30-2006 09:49AM FROM-Some Company 555555555 ... and so on

I wonder if it's possible to include "FROM" value into the email body that is sent to the FaxDispatch recipient?

That top line is part of the image data that is sent by the sender. So as far as faxgetty is concerned, it's just a bunch of black and white dots... it doesn't become words and other meaningful information until your brain sees those dots and makes sense of it.

It would certainly be possible to use an optical character recognition program such as gOCR to read this and do something with it, such as placing it in the e-mail body. That's an excersize that's left up to the admin, though. :-)

I suspect that the tagline will generally be one of the few parts that will reliably be decipherable with OCR. The rest of the fax image, with skew and other distortions will be more difficult for OCR to pull out.

Lee.
