Re: [hylafax-users] Problems with PDF files

The conversion of PDF is included in hylafax, but I cannot find more informations about the conversion. No log-file, no error report or other explications.

And, actually, the conversion performed by "HylaFAX" is in the pdf2fax script, which basically calls on Ghostscript to do that work.

How can I find out what happens?

Set ServerTracing to 0xFFF in etc/config (the faxq config, not the modem configs), restart faxq, and then send again. Look in your syslog for pdf2fax and then run that command by hand from the HylaFAX spool directory against your source file. Look at the resulting TIFF file. Then work at figuring out what Ghostscript is missing.

Please, also have a look to the attachment. There you can see the error on pdf-files and an additional error that I know only from fax-machines if the paper is wedged. How is this possible with hylafax? Hylafax has confirmed this fax as "sent".

The image looks like it was pagechopped... meaning that the source image was all-white... or at least Ghostscript left it all-white.
