[hylafax-users] development roadmap

Hello,

I posted the following to the Sourceforge HylaFAX mailing list yesterday

http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_id=8911037&forum_id=46800

It was privately suggested to me that I should perhaps mention it here, also, so that people would maybe get a better understanding of what's going to be going on over there.

I'm looking to draw up a development roadmap for HylaFAX, something that I (at least, and hopefully others) will work from in getting feature requests and alterations completed. I think that we've missed having this kind of general project outline.

The roadmap will be published on-line. Part of the value of publishing that is that it will allow lots of people to participate and perhaps see avenues of valuable development that may not have been apparent without the outline.

This is not to say that developers aren't encouraged to work on whatever their heart desires most, but I do believe that having a plan for the future will foster creativity and will help focus efforts if we can all see where we're going with things.

Bugzilla and other bug-tracking tools do include dependency tags and such, but it's hard to visualize the roadmap that way.

Thanks,

Lee.
