This is correct.

Do I have to restart faxgetty on each port for the change in priority to take effect?


If you want the change to take effect immediately, yes. Or you need to also use 'faxconfig' (I think that works).

However, if you don't want a modem used at all for sending then my recommendation is to use "ModemReadyState: D"
