Well, modems don't need to know how to handle hunt groups... because all 
of the handling is done on the telco-side of things.

Certainly there is something else that is going on that is causing the 
problems.  I would follow the earlier suggestion and open up each modem 
port in a minicom session and then call to that line and watch for the 
RING messages.  That should help you get closer to seeing what the real 
problem is.
