[hylafax-users] hylafax on a virtual server

I am also interested in running Hylafax in a vmware virtual machine, as this
would make it very portable to install onto existing servers which already
run vmware without affecting an organizations existing unix server
configuration, easier for a sysadmin to swallow.

I have tried to do this, in fact, but had problems with faxgetty. Nothing I
did would let the virtual machine take proper control of the serial ports,
and all I got back were a bunch of error messages from the os in the virtual
machine. This was a while ago so I don't have the messages handy, but I
recall vmware's support site had NOTHING userful in their knowledge base to
help solve it.

If anyone has succeeded installing and running hylafax under a vmware vm, I
would also be interested in pursuing this.

Mark
