[hylafax-users] problems with receiving fax: zyxel u-1496(s)

hi!

i'm new to the list and to hylafax and have a problem related to
reveiving a fax.
please, i really hope someone on this list is able to help because it's
important that the fax-server is full functional until next week.

as i mentioned in the subject the modem is some kind of zyxel u-1496.
the problem seems to be the quality of the received data. the logfile
says that only 25% of the faxdata is valid.
i think that the problem is caused by the config file which is for the
u-1496e+ or something. this config-file is shipped with the
hylafax-server and i searched and found no explicit version for the
u-1496(s).

my questions:
- which exact type is the modem (1496-(s,e,...)). it is an external
modem with display and no background-light.
- can anyone send me his config-file for this kind of modem?
- is the hylafax zyxel u-1496e+ config for all kinds of zyxel 1496 modems?
- what else could be wrong with respect of the log and config -file

hylafax 4.2
zyxel u-1496(s) or something (it's hard to tell because everywhere on
the zyxel support site's and readme's are different informations)
