[hylafax-users] Debian Fax Getty

hylafax is constantly cycling the checking if modem read message with faxstat.

when I enable the faxgetty proccess in inittab and restart the server 
I can no longer run hylafax. I get an error when i run faxstat saying
the server is responding. when i restart the server
/etc/init.d/hylafax restart it tells me it can't restart because the
daemons are already running.

when i add the faxgetty command to inittab ..

pkraus@hylafax:~$ cat /etc/inittab | grep faxgetty
#t2:23:respawn:/usr/sbin/faxgetty ttyS4
#t3:23:respawn:/usr/sbin/faxgetty ttyS5
#t4:23:respawn:/usr/sbin/faxgetty ttyS6
#t5:23:respawn:/usr/sbin/faxgetty ttyS7

Need to bring this server up live on monday please help :)
