Dear friends,

how do you identify the class of your modem in Linux?

Use minicom

AT+FCLASS=?

We are using an old modem as fax sender receiver, but we do not know the class.

We do not even know the maximum speed. (How do you identify that, by the way?)

For Class 1:

AT+FCLASS=1
AT+FRM=?

For Class 2:

AT+FCLASS=2
AT+FDCC=?

You'll have to know how to interpret the responses.
