Did change the setting in inittab, but didn't help anything. Nothing's changed.

Did you run "telinit q" to respawn init ?

You helped me a lot. It's working perfectly now. I changed my etry in inittab from "/dev/ttyS1" into "ttyS1" and then I had to run "telinit q".
