Re: [hylafax-users] notify

Why, under 4.2.1, are there both a notify and a notify-4.1 in the

notify was reworked heavily for the 4.2.0 release. So, take your pick on the verbage:

Because the old notify was so well-tested through years of use that leaving it available to users for fallback purposes seemed appropriate.

Because some people were scared of the changes that went into notify in 4.2.0. So the old notify was left there for them to use instead of fixing the new one... if ever there were any problems.

Because a number of people had notify customizations that didn't apply cleanly to the new notify, and they wouldn't complain so much about the changes if they didn't need to port their customizations.

Because the new notify would be lonely without its mommy.
