It would seem like your patching didn't work. Are you sure that the
version that you installed completely replaced the previous version?
You will have problems if you have one 3.6.1 installed and then install
3.6.1-patched in a different manner.
If you have the luxury of choosing your version of libtiff, then choose
3.7.2.
