Re: [hylafax-users] Intermittent problem with a Multitech MT5634Z PX-PCI

Steve

I tried one of our MT5634's this morning in minicom while it was in a
"stuck" state.

I identified the modem as being in a "stuck" state by dialing the modem's
direct line, and receiving ringback but the modem/faxgetty never picking up.

I went into minicom, where I could observe the port receiving "RING".
I exited minicom, resetting the modem in the process of the exit. Without
doing anything else, I redialed the modem's direct line, and faxgetty
answered the call.

When it happens that the modem stops receiving rings, does it still not work
if you then run Minicom and dial in and see if the RING is displayed?

Hi Donald,

Thanks for your response.

This is one of the things I'd like to avoid as it's just a workaround
and not a real solution. I'll do it only if there is nothing else I
can do, including changing the software.
