This (you may be glad to hear) is a fax problem (issue with fax
protocol), and HylaFAX is able to work around the matter.
Update to current HylaFAX CVS and then add:
Class1AdaptRecvCmd: AT+FAR=1
or
Class1RMPersistence: 1
(but not both) to your modem config file.
