I assume that faxaddmodem selected a config file for your modem, or did 
you build your config file by hand?

In any case, you need to change ServerTracing in the modem config file 
to 0xFFF and then restart faxgetty.  When it fails, stop faxgetty, and 
then look in the server logs to see what AT commands didn't work right.
