[hylafax-users] faxstat: Service not available, remote server closed connection / CAUGHT SIGNAL 11

Hello List,

For a couple of days I've been trying to solve my problem on HylaFAX. It boils down to the following:

When I launch faxstat, I get

Service not available, remote server closed connection
Unable to initialize data connection to server

And when looking at /var/log/messages I see:

Oct 28 11:02:31 tux1ch HylaFAX[7387]: CAUGHT SIGNAL 11

After such a message, if I run
# /etc/rc.d/init.d/hylafax stop && /etc/rc.d/init.d/hylafax start
I get the following in /var/log/messages:

Running faxstat -v, I get:

Trying localhost (127.0.0.1) at port 4559...
Connected to localhost.localdomain.
220 tux1ch.saint-gobain.ch server (HylaFAX (tm) Version 4.2.0) ready.
-> USER root
230 User root logged in.
-> PORT 127,0,0,1,131,11
Service not available, remote server closed connection
Unable to initialize data connection to server

In an older message at this board and on other boards, I've seen that I should check the following:

1 - Are all needed processes running?
2 - Is inetd defining hylafax on port 4559?

Answers:
1 - # ps -aef | grep fax

    hylafax         4559/tcp                        # HylaFAX client-server protocol  (new)

So both things seem to be OK.

What else could I check?

Additional information:
- My System is a Fedora Core 2 Linux
- My Modem is an Elsa MicroLink ISDN/TLV.34
- My Modem is turned on and can be talked to with minicom
- At one point in time I've been able to send a fax through HylaFAX but after a reboot it didn't work any more
- The version of HylaFAX is 4.2.0 and has been compiled on the system
