Re: [hylafax-users] hosts.hfaxd

Hello,

I've installed hylafax on a debian machine. It works fine. At now, I'm trying to use it though a windows client (cypheus). And I have a problem with the hylafax privileges.

I've done some changes in the hosts.hfaxd to try to connect, but always I get the same message because it say that the password or the user are not correct. I want to be able to send faxes from any address in the range 192.168.1.0/24.

I've tried with:

192.168.1.*:22::
and
192.168.1.48:22:: (for access only from 192.168.1.48)
and with
user@xxxxxxxxxxxx:26:/LgM.luqKSbkA

and any of that works. Always I get the 'user or password incorrect' message.

What do I have to put in the hosts.hfaxd file to permit the access from all the 192.168.1.0 / 24 and any user?

Hi Carlos

I would first test access from your client machine with a minimal hosts.hfaxd file as below;

localhost
127.0.0.1
192.168.0.*

Restart hylafax "/etc/init.d/hylafax stop; /etc/init.d/hylafax start"

Can you now get access via cypheus? If so, and you want to restrict access further by hylafax users, try adding users back in using faxadduser and check that the new users are added below the lines above, as IIRC order is important for hosts.hfaxd
