Re: [hylafax-users] fax did not come in, now they do but...
When I check /var/log/messages, I had:
Mar 22 16:24:36 serveurfax FaxGetty[11733]: RECV FAX (00000397): from
514 695 0801, page 1 in 0:22, INF, 3.85 line/mm, 2-D MR, 14400 bit/s
Mar 22 16:24:58 serveurfax FaxGetty[11733]: RECV FAX (00000397): from
514 695 0801, page 2 in 0:22, INF, 3.85 line/mm, 2-D MR, 14400 bit/s
Mar 22 16:24:58 serveurfax FaxGetty[11733]: RECV FAX (00000397):
recvq/fax00064.tif from 514 695 0801, route to <unspecified>, 2 pages in
1:05
Mar 22 16:24:59 serveurfax FaxGetty[11733]: RECV FAX: bin/faxrcvd
"recvq/fax00064.tif" "ttyS0" "00000397" "" "" ""
Mar 22 16:24:59 serveurfax FaxGetty[11733]: Bad exit status 077000 for
'bin/faxrcvd "recvq/fax00064.tif" "ttyS0" "00000397" "" "" ""'
When I had this, the faxes did not come in.
I changed permission on faxrcvd to 755 root, Now the faxes do come in,
but I have this now in the logs:
Mar 25 08:40:18 serveurfax FaxGetty[11733]: RECV FAX (00000451): from
450 669 8051, page 1 in 0:24, INF, 3.85 line/mm, 2-D MR, 14400 bit/s
Mar 25 08:40:18 serveurfax FaxGetty[11733]: RECV FAX (00000451):
recvq/fax00103.tif from 450 669 8051, route to <unspecified>, 1 pages in
0:32
Mar 25 08:40:19 serveurfax FaxGetty[11733]: RECV FAX: bin/faxrcvd
"recvq/fax00103.tif" "ttyS0" "00000451" "" "" ""
Mar 25 08:40:19 serveurfax FaxGetty[11733]: Bad exit status 0400 for
'bin/faxrcvd "recvq/fax00103.tif" "ttyS0" "00000451" "" "" ""'
This "0400" usually results from parameter checking at the beginning of
faxrcvd. May be you have "-eq" there, should be changed to "-lt".
Try running
bin/faxrcvd "recvq/fax00103.tif" "ttyS0" "00000451" "" "" ""
on the command line as user uucp/fax in /var/spool/[hyla]fax and see
what the script's output is.

I realise that the faxes do come in, but is there a way to get rid of
those bad exit statuses?
Best regards.
