Re: [hylafax-users] Errors with faxclients (e.g. WHFC)

Hi,

when I try to send a fax via WHFC to (a fresh) hylafax (4.1.8 or
4.1.7)
it instantly gets moved to "doneq" with <no reason recorded>. With
another hylafax (4.1.5) on another machine it worked perfect for more
than one year now.

So you merely change the HylaFAX server IP/name in the WHFC configuration properties and it works/doesn't work based on what server it's using?

Fax from console and receiving works perfectly. In
/var/log/messages I find:

Mar 3 15:52:46 htpc HylaFAX[18395]: Filesystem has SysV-style file
creation semantics.
Mar 3 15:52:47 htpc FaxQueuer[18309]: SUBMIT JOB 4
Mar 3 15:52:47 htpc FaxQueuer[18396]: Assertion failed "Invalid Str[]
index", file "../util/Str.h" line 106.
Mar 3 15:52:47 htpc FaxQueuer[18309]: JOB 4: bad exit status 0x6 from
sub-fork
Mar 3 15:52:47 htpc FaxQueuer[18309]: NOTIFY: bin/notify "doneq/q4"
"failed" ""

Additionally, the "recvq" in WHFC cannot be displayed. A small
error-window opens, without any text but OK-button. After that I find
in
/var/log/messages:

Mar 3 15:52:52 htpc hfaxd: Str.c++:339: void
fxStr::resizeInternal(unsigned int): Assertion `data == &emptyString'
failed.

Those certainly are ugly. Too bad your logging isn't high enough to tell us anything. Try setting ServerTracing (in etc/config) to 0xFFFFFFFFFF, restart HylaFAX, and then see what the logs say.
