Re: [hylafax-users] Phase D error

I changed my Multi Tech MT5634ZPX to class 2.0 and now it sends in
2D-MMR without problems. However twice a machine tried to send us a
fax (we've never received from them before) and a phase D error
occured; both log files are below.
Searching the list I only found one other reference to phase D and it
suggested getting the newest firmware, which I already have. An item
of note is every received fax has had the following lines it in,
although they've all been sucessful other than the two phase D errors.
Dec 18 06:23:35.81: [28470]: MODEM set XON/XOFF/FLUSH: input ignored,
output generated
Dec 18 06:23:35.81: [28470]: RECV: send trigger 022

Dec 18 06:23:47.60: [28470]: RECV/CQ: Bad 2D pixel count, row 0, got
0, expected 1728
Dec 18 06:23:47.60: [28470]: RECV/CQ: Invalid EOL code word, row 1, x
0
Dec 18 06:23:47.60: [28470]: RECV/CQ: Bad 2D pixel count, row 1, got
0, expected 1728
Dec 18 06:23:47.60: [28470]: RECV/CQ: Invalid EOL code word, row 2, x

These lines are a consequence of the pre-4.2.0 decoder not being
MMR-compatible. It doesn't matter, however, because in pre-4.2.0 we
use the modem firmware's decoder to produce the line count. These
lines are "fixed" in HylaFAX CVS HEAD (to be 4.2.0). They're not a
problem, however.
Dec 18 06:23:47.60: [28470]: RECV: 14990 bytes of data, 3 total lines
Dec 18 06:23:47.60: [28470]: MODEM set XON/XOFF/DRAIN: input
interpreted, output disabled
I don't know if those lines could be a problem or not.
They're not.

In my testing with MultiTechs, +FHS:A0 represents just about any ECM
protocol error, so this specific problem could be due to a number of
things. It most likely represents a flaw in the firmware, and you'll
need to contact MultiTech for a fix. If you want MMR/ECM support
today, well, HylaFAX CVS HEAD now supports these in Class 1.
Otherwise, you'll need to disable MMR or ECM support in order to work
around the matter.
