[hylafax-users] Adding custom commands to config files?

I want to rate limit my modem for receiving faxes. It is a USR 5610, and 
if I read the modem manual correctly, the following command(s) would 
rate limit the modem to only connect between 0 and 9600:

&N>0 &U>9600

I understand that the lastest CVS version has this functionality, but I 
have reason for sticking with 4.18. Is there a way I can modify my 
config files to include these commands? Or do I need to somehow get 
faxgetty to do it (and how?)
