[hylafax-users] 2+ External serial modems?
Hi
guys,
I'm currently
testing a Hylafax system which I hope to go live with next week. Testing
has been very successful and it is working like a gem. Our plan at this
stage is to simply use it to receive faxes. To many policy related
headaches to move to PC based sending at this time!!!
Anyway, my question
is:
I have been testing
the system using two external serial modems. They are old Netcomm E11F's,
very reliable and stable. But I would like to add a third modem. Now
my plan was to simply add an ISA 2 serial port card to the PC to give it a total
of 4. Then simply add another E11F the same way I did for the first
two.
But I was just
reading the How-To and I noticed under the 'External Serial Modems' section
it would seem this does not work. Though I will admit I didn't understand
why. Can someone please expand on this?
I'm new to Hylafax
and only moderately experience with Linux. This will be only our second
Linux based production system.
My environment
is:
Red Hat Linux
7.3
Hylafax
4.1.7
Thank you very
much,
Cheers,
Sam
