DTE = Data terminal equipment
DCE = Data communication equipment
Class 1 Each EIA command begins with the fax
extension characters +F Three general forms of command
syntax are available depending on the particular
command.
The three forms are capabilties,status and set.
Note that not all forms are appropriate for every command
+Fcommand=val
whre command represents the parameter to be set and
val represents the desired parameter value
Class 2
EIA class 2.0 commands have essentially the same
syntax as definited for class 1 and all begin with the extension
+F the three general forms of commands syntax
(capabilties, status and set) are also available when appropriate.
for class 2.0 the command syntax used to set the
value of a parameter or pass a parameter that controls modem
operation may support numeric or string values
Unlike class 1 commands, however, class2.0 numeric constants must
be specified in hexadecimal.
