Are there really no pages in the documents?

Maybe sendfax tries to generate a cover page which leads to an error?
Try "sendfax -n -d ...".

You should post some more infos:
- your config file
- your config.faxCAPI file
- is c2faxrecv running ? entry for that in inittab ?
