Re: [hylafax-users] Some users don't get all scan lines

The log from the fax sent to the HP is attached. There are many "partial page" signals in it, so maybe the newer ECM patch you're offering would help. Could you send it or upload it, please?

The reason there was an error with the HP is because the transmission of parts of the same image block had been attempted 4 times at 2400 baud without any attempt being accepted completely, although there were improvements each time (each PPR requested fewer frames to be resent).

I've uploaded the new version. It should allow the transmission to complete to the HP.

From the log it appears that you've got serious line trouble... either that or you run these lines or faxes through/behind a noisy PBX. Even if you were to try a different modem I don't think you'd get anywhere. Either the noise needs to be cleaned up or you'll have to rely on ECM to compensate.

So, although ECM should allow faxes to complete with good quality, they're probably taking *much* longer than they would if the lines were less noisy. This is probably true of your fax machines (machine-to-machine faxes) also, depending on where the noise is coming from and if it affects them.
