 This happens if the faxrcvd script can not access MIMENCODE ( which is
by default mimencode at around line 56 in faxrcvd  ). This program is a
part of metamail. So check if you have the mimencode program in the
default path

I did, I found an RPM on the web, version 2.7 I think, and installed
that. Does that normally resolve it?
