Re: [hylafax-users] Detecting thermal fax machines

I'm going to hazard a guess and say no you can't.

i don't know but the question i ask back at you. 'Why on earth would you
want to dissallow fax machines with thermal paper?'. if the poor old
person the other end can't afford a normal paper one you won't send him
faxes?

will you make the modem dial his voice number and play a recorded message
saying 'Thermal Fax Machine Deteced. Please upgrade to a paper fax machine
to receive faxes from our company. Sincerly, Amazon.com'

does this sound silly to anyone but me?

Subject: [hylafax-users] Detecting thermal fax machines

Is there any way to detect a thermal fax machine?
Basically, we want to disallow sending faxes to these machines due to the
poor quality..

Is there a reference list of NSF codes that might be used?

Thanks

Eric
