Hi ,
I have the same problem, RedHat 8.0, Hylafax 4.1.5 US Robotics faxmodem 56K external, this modem is configurable as class 1 or 2.0, in the first case trying to send a fax I get the error "Waiting for the modem to become ready" at the prompt ....faxstat Waiting for the modem to become ready.....; in the second case, error "No dial tone" at the prompt faxstat "Hylafax running Modem idle".
1st I though was a line problem but the phone works fine on that line; I don't know what else to do, I put two line in config.ttyS0: ModemDialCmd ATX3,
ModemDialCmd: ATDP0, %s, I tried to send fax from the Windows client by "sambafax" and by WHFC and from Linux box with send fax -n -d xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx /etc/faxtest.ps., the document in both cases went to docq, stayed there for a while and then moved to sendq even if it had not been sent, I got an email reporting the above errors; when I tried to send fax, I can see the modem led blinking .
Please help me it is about two weeks I am working at Hylafax without significant results.
I attach the error log of Hylafax and the configuration file for the modem ttyS0.
This is the log:
