For those who are getting a "connection refused" error here... the page 
said basically to set...

ModemRecvFillOrder:    MSB2LSB

in the config file for Dr. Neuhaus and Creatix LC144VF modems... and 
possibly Zyxel 2864I if this works for Giorgio.  This is the 
traditional "Rockwell" behavior and generally applies to "Class 2" 
protocol as compared to "Class 2.0/2.1" protocol.  But, not all modems 
follow this rule.

Creatix modems should be using config/umc92144 for Class 2, anyway.
I don't know what Dr. Neuhaus selects.
The Zyxel 2864 doesn't have a config file for "Class 2"... it does for 
"Class 2.0".
