We use:
redmon redirector (http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/redmon/) and a basic postscript printer driver (apple laserwriter 
16/100 ps),
a simple home-made program which redirects its standard input to its standard output and launches
the faxsender client (home-made too).

All that works very well.
