[hylafax-users] Getting good modems in the UK

Hi

I've been looking through the list of "recommended for use" modems on
hylafax.org and trying to find a supplier in the UK who stocks any of
the exact models listed, but I'm not having a lot of luck.
I have been using some little Elsa made modems with HylaFAX and while
they seem to work ok, I would like to use some that are more of a known
quantity (I am seeing growing numbers of faxes in and out that are
failing with vague, unspecified errors and while I try to trace down as
many as I can, I would like to get the system running on the most
reliable hardware possible, to reduce obscure bogons).

On that note, would people generally say that it's normal for a weekly
incoming load of around 1000 faxes and outgoing load of around 2000
faxes, to be seeing failure rates of 30-50 incoming faxes a week and
about the same outgoing?

Cheers,
