[hylafax-users] Question about received image quality?

Hi!  I just started using Hylafax.  I'm running FreeBSD 4.7-STABLE, with a
Zoom 2986L USB class-1 fax modem.  Every fax image I receive seems to have a
problem with banding -- in the output image, there is a thin horizontal line
approximately every 1.5 inches.  This line is not actually a solid line, but
appears to be irregularly dashed or dotted.  The exact same fax, sent on the
same fax machine, to a regular fax machine, has no such banding issue.  Has
anyone seen this before?  I can post my config file if need be.
