Re: [hylafax-users] [hylafax-devel] sendfax segfault, problem with PDF conversion?

If pdf2fax in hylafax's bin directory is the conversion program used, it
doesn't seem to have any issues converting my problem PDFs when I run it by
hand. In case that helps anyone. ;)

Subject: [hylafax-devel] sendfax segfault, problem with PDF conversion?

I noticed today that sendfax has been segfaulting occasionally since I
upgraded from 4.1.3 to 4.1.5:

[root@fax root]# sendfax -vv -D -h localhost -d "DOE JOHN@15555555555"
file.pdf
blah blah blah
rule: offset 0 string = "%PDF" -- success (result postscript, rule "")
Segmentation fault

This only happens on SOME PDFs, not others. These PDFs are generated on
demand from customer data, and are confidential, so I can't sent an example
of a working and non-working PDF. I can generate more debugging output if I
know where to look. I did not see this problem until I upgraded to 4.1.5
(via RPM). I am using RedHat 7.2, kernel 2.4.18-17 on a dual PIII 1Ghz
w/2Gb. HylaFAX is the only app running.

The typerules say I can uncomment the pdf2ps line. When did this behavior
change? That could be my problem. pdf2ps converts the PDF fine, but
sendfax chokes.
