Re: [hylafax-users] Hylafax doesn't know what modem to use
Hello Lothar,
I've installed the driver and CAPI4Hylafax yet my inittab is empty.
Running the command
/usr/local/bin/c2faxrecv -q "/var/spool/fax" &
results in this message:
error while loading shared libraries: libfaxutil.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
faxstat does _not_ report the faxmodem to be ready only this:
HylaFAX scheduler on FaxServer.intra.nlcom.nl: Running
do you know how this error is caused?
Than you very much
Martin

Hello Martin,
AVM does _not_ use faxgetty or faxaddmodem for their HylaFAX drivers. You need
ther capi driver for Linux _and_ "capi4hylafax" from their download server.
Do _not_ start i4l. After installing the capi driver and then capi4hylafax, a
new entry is added to your /etc/inittab file:
fr:2345:once:/usr/local/bin/c2faxrecv -q "/var/spool/fax"
This is needed even if you are using a sending only environment! After rebooting
your PC -- or after executing
/usr/local/bin/c2faxrecv -q "/var/spool/fax" &
faxstat should report something like
HylaFAX scheduler on linuxgwhun.rz: Running
Modem faxCAPI (+49.xxx.xxxxxxx): Running and idle
Regards
Lothar
