The modem is a USR v.92 faxmodem (5686e), which has Caller ID and
Distinctive Ring support.

I just ordered distinctive ring today and it will be turned on (from my
phone company) around 3pm or so.

In order to get things ready, I set up register 41 which is used by my
modem to enable distinctive ring.

Now, whenever a ring on my voicenumber comes up, it is indicated as "RING
A" (I tested this when using a terminal program).

However, though I inserted in my config:

RingFax: "RING B"

And then restarted hylafax + faxgetty, Faxgetty is still answering even
though the logs show the incoming line to be for "RING A".

This is odd?

Any clues?

Sunil

p.s. I would think that irregardless of distinctive ring actually being
on the line, the fact that my modem returns RING A and that hylafax config
is set up for the string "RING B" should stop faxgetty from answering,
right?
