[hylafax-users] "Failure to receive silence"

I have HylaFax 4.1.3 set up under RedHat 7.1

I can send faxes OK

When I attempt to receive a fax all appears fine until the end when an
error gets logged, the essence of which is:

Aug 11 10:14:31.93: [ 1278]: RECV FAX (00000002): session with
+xxxxxxxxxxx terminated abnormally: Failure to receive silence.
Aug 11 10:14:31.93: [ 1278]: RECV FAX: bin/faxrcvd "recvq/fax00002.tif"
"ttyS0" "00000002" "Failure to receive silence." "" ""
Aug 11 10:14:32.01: [ 1278]: RECV FAX: end

This results in the stated received .tif not being created. The perms on
the recvq directory are as installed:
drwxr-xr-x 2 uucp uucp 4096 Aug 11 10:24 recvq/

I also have another problem in as much as the modem reports as:
OK
at+fclass=?
0,1,8

OK

so it gets configures as a Class 1 modem whereas it is probably capable of
Class 2, though it cannot be set as such.
