[hylafax-users] Releasing modem

Good afternoon everyone,

I need to setup my Hylafax Linux server for ppp connection to the internet
for a brief while. I've setup the modem as a network device in RedHat 7.3,
but the system cannot get control of the modem. I believe that this is
because Hylafax is using the modem. I set up Hylafax to use faxgetty (in
/etc/inittab) instead of faxmodem. I've tried shutting down Hylafax, but
that doesn't release the modem. What should I do allow me to dial out on the
modem?
