[hylafax-users] Decomression error

I am tring to write a new client getting stuck on one thing though.
I can establish a pasive connection with the Hylafax server
but when I intiate a file transfer I recieve a 452 error -- Decoding 
error: unknown compression method

here is a sample of my procedures
login - ok
type I - ok
pasv - ok
mode  z - ok
STOT
150 FILE: /tmp/doc100.ps (Opening new data connection)
Data transfer start
452 Decoding error: unknown compression method
Data transfer end

I have done a (sendfax -vv) with the same file and that works ok.
I have looked at the "-vv" results and don't see anything different 
other than the error.
does anyone have any Ideas??
