For tech questions I'm not the best person to ask, the
mailling list is the best place, however, HylaFAX
manage your 16 lines without queue problems, I guess
he name the incomming fax only when the communication
end (forgive my poor english).

I'm the author of the howto ;-)))). And work pretty
well. The issues? Lp is the "user" who owns the job,
so, for example, if one of your users want stop a fax
he/she can't. A solution could be integrating the java
client. Read te howto for more details.

HylaFAx "knows" wich modem is available, how?, I'm not
sure, maybe check the config.ttyXX files and store the
info somewhere to check quickly, HylaFAX "listen" the
ports using faxgetty, wich control the modem. If
RingsBeforeAnswer is 0 then that HylaFAX will not use
that modem to answer calls.

You have some hylafax tech doubts, don't be shamed to
ask in the mailling list, will be surprised for the
ammount of responses.
