[hylafax-users] Rockwell / Conexant: "No response to MPS ..." and other problems

Hi!

I just built and installed Hylafax 4.1.1 on a Slackware 8.0 Linux system. The modem is branded "Bestmatic", and it seems to have a Rockwell/Conexant chipset. Installation and configuration went smoothly until I tried to send faxes. I'm trying to fax to a HP OfficeJet G85 Fax, but it won't work:

  - If I send only one page everything looks ok on the Hylafax-side. On the HP side the fax seems to be received ok but then it's never printed (!!).
  - If I send two or more pages I get the infamous "No response to MPS or EOP repeated 3 times".
  - I've tried to use both Class 1 and Class 2, but no difference.

I'm a newbie when it comes to (Hyla)faxes and modems so I don't exactly know what info to send. Below is:
  a) How faxaddmodem identifies the modem
  b) From config.modem when trying Class 1
  c) From config.modem when trying Class 2
  d) The output from "probemodem"
  e) The logfile from sending 1 page. Everything seems to work well, but the fax is never printed on the receiving side (HP OfficeJet). If this is a HP problem I've never experienced it or heard about it before.
  f) The logfile from sending 2 pages. No response to MPS... etc.

Please help me, I really want to use Hylafax! If you need any more information I'll be happy to provide it.

Regards,
/Johan Ekenberg - Sweden
