Well, you have to look at stderr from textfmt, normal out put will put 
stderr and stdout, and you won't see the error, usually.  I'd guess that 
textfmt does the same thing - unless you're sure it doesn't.

This error usually means that you haven't installed Ghostscript's font 
files, that they're located in the wrong place, or that you have otherwise 
misconfigured Ghostscript.  See:
