I don't said thatr:-), if sounds that sorry, misunderstood. After a few
kill and faxquit lpr is able to print everything. What happens is that the
server stuck with pending spool jobs and can't quit from the communication
job. Ex:

Stuck here and if I run faxstat the output shows

and never quit. That out my line busy "ad infinitum?"

By the way, if the printer stop because paper is stucked inside I got the
same problem.
