The received wisdom at the moment seems to be that if it's a "fax
board", it requires special drivers which a) aren't available, and b)
the manufacturer doesn't want to provide driver-writing information
for.

Except the Digi Datafire RAS and Eicon Diva, which Yan is working on
right now. 

If you can justify a major portion of a T-span (or PRI, preferably),
and you have time or money to throw at the project, he reports that the
datafire looks like it would be spiffy, modulo a nasty driver bug that
trashes hard drives... and he's looking at the Eicon now.
