[hylafax-users] hylafax being a complete PITA on slackware 8.0

hylafax.tgz from the website causes faxgetty's and faxq to go rogue (use
CPU) when you run faxstat -s. Not good when you have 30 faxgetty's or
more. They keep select'ing, getting a receive ready on the FIFO and
reading from it to get 0 bytes (what does that mean again?).

4.1 compiles from source, but when you send a fax it stays in the queue
for about 2 seconds then disappears into thin air, no notification
email, faxsend doesn't even seem to get run.

4.0pl2 just doesn't want to compile. got to use libtiff 3.5 whether it
likes it or not, solved one compile problem with Dispatcher.c++ and
found that SendFaxJob.c++ gives a bunch of warnings, no errors, but
doesn't compile anyway.

Okay, so which god should I appease to get this thing working?

*waits for "the redhat gods" or similar*

Mick.
