I know that there have been many post
about this issue and there is even an FAQ about squashed up faxes on
hylafax.org, but I can't seem to find a solution to my problem.

I am sending a PostScript file via the HylaFAX
server using an older 28k fax/modem. While some fax recievers (seems to be
phone/fax combos) squash up the fax when they print what they have recieved,
other newer fax systems (computer faxes and laser faxes) seem to be fine with
it. Logic dictates that the problem is in the way that the server is
communicating with these older fax systems however after trying to add various
config directives to the config file (suggested by various Posts) I still can't
seem to pin point the fault and fix it.

I am using the latest debian binary of the HylaFAX
server and ttyS3 on my box to send the fax. Is there someone who has a
debian installation of the HylaFAX server and knows how to troubleshoot this
problem.

Cheers
