[hylafax-users] problem with faxanswer

hi all!

this is my first try with hylafax, so please be patient, my
questions may be a bit simple but i could not find any
information in the docs and faqs!

hylafax seems to run properly (at least i was able to send a fax
and receive one if i set RingsBeforeAnswer to 1)
now i set RingsBeforeAnswer to answer incoming calls manually.
the problem is if i type

  faxanswer ttyS0

i always get 

  FIFO.ttyS0: open: Das Gerät ist nicht konfiguriert
                    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ means: the
device is not configure, i am using a german suse 7.0
distribution

but i started "faxaddmodem ttyS0" and "faxmodem ttyS0" and got no
error messages. 

anybody can help??
